127 Hours Trailer

British born writer/producer/director Danny Boyle has brought some truly amazing, and utterly groundbreaking, movies to the screen; including Trainspotting, The Beach, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and Slumdog Millionaire; all of which have managed to gain a superb cult following, and are extremely well regarded by their fans, and the movie world as a whole, just as his next film; 127 Hours; looks to be.

127 Hours is based on the incredible true story of Aron Ralston; who, as many people know, is the American mountain climber that found himself trapped by a boulder in Robbers Roost, Utah, for almost five days, and was forced to amputate his own arm in order to break free and survive; and will involve watching Ralston braving the elements for 5 days, examining his life, and scaling a 65 foot wall and hiking over eight miles before finally being rescued.

Boyle has been planning on producing a film based on Ralston’s experience for nearly four years (as he initially experienced his ordeal back in 2003), but finally started filming back in March this year; with Spider-Man’s James Franco stepping into the lead role that was once rumoured to be going to previous Boyle collaborator (and future lead star of I’m.mortal) Cillian Murphy.

127 Hours has just had its first official trailer released (which can be viewed below) and will be receiving its debut on September 12th at the Toronto International Film Festival, before closing the London Film Festival on October 28th, and getting its U.S. release on November 5th.
