News of an Ab Fab film has been floating about for years, but Edina and Patsy have actually done it; there will be an Absolutely Fabulous film based on the classic sitcom; as you can see from the first official image below.
Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley will be reprising their roles as the alcohol-loving, ageing, fashionistas and joined once again by Saunders’ on screen daughter Saffy (Julia Sawalha), as well as Bubbles (Jane Horrocks), and Eddie’s mother (June Whitfied), and Jen has said she’s “thrilled and excited to finally start filming.”
Seeing the pair involved in a high-to-do fracas in London, and fleeing to the French Riviera to escape the paparazzi, the Absolutely Fabulous film will see Patsy and Eddie attempting to find a way to turn their misfortune into a real fortune, and staying in France permanently.
Filming in both France and the UK, there’s no set release date so far, but we expect Absolutely Fabulous to grace our screens sometime near year; with a host of cameos and guest stars which so far include the likes of Kate Moss, Emma Bunton, Chris Colfer, Dawn French, and Kim Kardashian.
