Based on Herman Melville’s classic tale; Moby Dick; Age of the Dragons takes the classic tale of obsession and whale hunting to a whole new level; by applying it to an all-action re-telling, set in a medieval fantasy land, and turning the hunt onto one of the most feared creatures in medieval folklore; dragons.
Headlining the cast as the obsessive hunter Captain Ahab, Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) leads a bunch of rag tag mercenaries along the trail of some truly fearsome creatures, and is joined by a charismatic harpooner named Ishmael (Corey Sevier, The Lost Future); a man seeking more riches than he could ever hope to find.
Ahab’s quest however isn’t simply a dragon hunt, but a quest for revenge that sees him and his crew; which also consist of his adopted daughter Rachel (Sofia Pernas, The Immortal Voyage of Captain Drake), and the hardened, veteran harpooner Stubbs (Vinnie Jones, Snatch); chasing the great ‘White Dragon’ that slaughtered his family years earlier.
Age of the Dragons opens in U.K. cinemas this Friday (March 4th), and is being released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 21st; but for now, the movie’s official trailer can be viewed below.
