There’s been a lot of debate about who should play the young Han Solo, and taking on the mantle of a younger Han in arguably the biggest franchise in the world (Star Wars) is no easy task, yet directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The Lego Movie) think they’ve found the man who could grow into Harrison Ford (and in one of his most recognisable roles); Alden Ehrenreich.

Known for Beautiful Creatures, and seen more recently in The Coens’ Hail, Caesar!, Alden will be headlining the stand-alone Star Wars prequel should his casting be officially confirmed; as at this point Disney and Lucasfilm haven’t officially announced the casting yet, though Alden’s appointment is being picked up from inside sources according to the New York Post.

The young Han Solo movie is set to be released on May 25th 2018, and instead of providing a typical origin story for the hero will take a more recent look at Han; showing what he was like a few years before we got to know him in Episode IV.
