Fans of the Alien franchise have gathered around to celebrate the films on April 26th for some time (taking the date, written in the US way – 4/26 – from the films’ infamous planet LV426), and now 20th Century Fox are taking advantage by hosting a number of events, and product launches on that very day.
Both Alien and Aliens will be heading back into cinemas across the US for a double bill (we’ve no word on UK showings so far, but we would expect certain chains/independents to follow suit and announce screenings soon), there will be a range of new and classic action figures, comics, and an official trivia challenge; dubbed Alien: Ultimate Trivia Contest; on Twitter (@AlienAnthology) where prizes will be given away every 42.6 minutes, as well as the opportunity to buy a pair of Ripley’s sneakers.
That’s right, the announcement which really has the Alien, and footwear enthusiast, community worked-up is that Reebok will be releasing a limited edition pair of sneakers (known to our UK readers as trainers) modelled on Ripley’s (see image below). They will also be available in a mid-top version, akin to those worn by Bishop.
