American Pie 4 On The Way

1

While the American Pie series essentially died back in 2003 after the release of American Wedding, it managed to limp on like a brain dead coma patient, thanks to a few spin-off movies about extended members of the Stifler family (American Pie Presents: Band Camp, American Pie Presents: The Naked Mile, American Pie Presents: Beta House, and American Pie Presents: The Book Of Love), and were unsurprisingly released straight to DVD. But now, seven years after the series entered its coma like state, it’s being taken off life-support, and given another ‘proper’ sequel.

The new film will be written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who have written both previous Harold and Kumar films, but left the directing chair for their next scripted Harold and Kumar outing in favour of American Pie 4; which (despite having no contracts officially signed as of yet) will reportedly bring the original cast back together, for some angst-filled, pastry-based, antics once again.

The project is said to be in high gear, as the actors have shown a strong interest in returning to the series; probably due to the fact that not one of them has had any real breakthrough roles since (Seann William Scott, who played Steve Stifler in the original trilogy, believes that he is destined to play the Stiffmeister, as he “did American Pie three times, and then versions of that in ten other movies”); meaning that not only have the expectations for this next outing been raised exponentially, in the eyes of every fan, but that American Pie 4 will presumably be the first American Pie to grace cinema screens in at least eight years.
