One of the most recognisable faces ever to grace the world of professional wrestling, André the Giant was not only a wrestling superstar, ‘literally the biggest celebrity in the world’, a movie star, and an unofficial drinking champion, he was a man in constant pain as a result of the medical condition which caused his enormous size – something explored by the upcoming HBO Sports documentary André the Giant.

Produced by HBO Sports, WWE, and the Bill Simmons Media Group, André the Giant charts the life and career of a true legend; from André’s upbringing in France, his fairly late diagnosis, journey to wrestling superstardom, and joining the WWF (what is now the WWE) before becoming an on-air rival of fellow WWE legend Hulk Hogan.

André the Giant will premiere on 10 April on HBO, and hopefully make the journey to the UK soon after.
