While we already knew Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega had been cast in an as yet untitled, upcoming, based-on-true-events drama from director Katheryn Bigelow, we’ve now word she’s also re-teaming with the Hurt Locker star Anthony Mackie.

Based around the 1967 Detroit Riots; the most destructive riots in the history of the US, sparked as a result of bubbling racial tension which boiled over into several days of unfettered violence, destruction, and police raids; there’s very little known about the film at this point, other than the fact Bigelow aims to begin filming soon, and is aiming to release the film next year in order to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the riots.
