Batman’s Deathstroke is Joe Manganiello

After Ben Affleck uncharacteristically dropped a teaser for his planned solo Batman outing (a short video of Bat-villain Deathstroke, in costume), The Wall Street Journal has uncovered the masked mercenary, and let us know who’ll be stepping into the blue and orange suit and trying to take on the Bat; none other than Magic Mike and True Blood star Joe Manganiello.

The information comes straight from DC Entertainment President and chief creative officer Geoff Johns, though he didn’t comment on whether or not Deathstroke; a hard-as-nails assassin and mercenary who beat Batman to a pulp in their first comic-book meeting in 1991 (and was memorably played by Manu Bennett in the Arrow TV show); would be appearing in next year’s Justice League movie (before  popping up in Affleck’s still untitled Batman film).

While The Dark Knight’s next solo outing doesn’t have an official release date as yet, we’ve still got two huge DC releases coming our way next year; with Wonder Woman on June 2nd, and Justice League on November 17th.
