Sicario star Benicio Del Toro has just entered talks to star in The Predator; the upcoming Predator sequel, due to be written and directed by Shane Black, The Nice Guys writer/director who not only starred in the 1987 original (as Hawkins), but was also on script duty for the film.
Black has said “Predator has been so overdone. Every couple of years, there’s a knock-off churned out. Very low budget with a guaranteed return.” Though by returning to the franchise he hopes to “‘event-ise’ the Predator again.”
