Brian De Palma’s 1976 adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie is heralded as a true horror classic, but is soon due, like most other movies more than a year old, to receive the Hollywood remake treatment, and has recently landed a new director; Kimberly Pierce.

Best known for directing Boys Don’t Cry, Kimberly is currently in talks to direct the film which famously starred Sissy Spacek, but will apparently be a more realistic, book-following, adaptation in the Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Big Love) written movie that, in the unlikely event she gets her wish, could place TransformersMegan Fox in the lead role.
