Undoubtedly hoping to emulate the success of 21 Jump Street, ’70s cop show CHiPs has been retooled and rebooted for for the big screen, and a new generation, by shifting to become an R-rated comedy. As seen in the first CHIPS official trailer below.

Written and directed by Dax Shepard (The Judge), CHIPS follows an injury-prone professional motorcyclist (Shepard) who joins the California Highway Patrol in order to help save his failing marriage, and his partner Frank Poncherello (Michael Peña, Ant-Man), who’s actually an undercover agent looking to bust a gang of crooked cops within the Highway Patrol.

Co-starring Kristen Bell (Bad Moms), Adam Brody (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), and Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), CHIPS is due to be released on 24 March in both the US and UK.
