Chuck Norris Wanted for Kung Fu Panda 3

While Dreamworks haven’t yet commissioned a third movie in the Kung Fu Panda series, it seems highly likely they will; seeing how the first was such a success, and the second (which opens in US cinemas today, and is due to be released in the UK on June 10th) look set to do the same; and the scriptwriters have already been thinking about future plot-lines and guest voices, with one clear voice actor in mind; Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris; the infamous tough-guy, martial artist, actor, and star of Walker Texas Ranger and Delta Squad (which some internet sources claim is actually a documentary about an average day for Chuck Norris); first made his name as a successful martial artist and action star, and is the one star Panda writers Glenn Berger and Jonathan Aibel really want to join their next Kung Fu Panda film.

Despite providing a number of popular cameos (including a brilliant appearance in Dodgeball), Chuck has previously turned down a role in the Panda series; something Berger thinks could be down to the fact “we just haven’t approached him with the right animal”, insisting that “you have to do a mythical beast to get Chuck Norris”; but as Jean-Claude Van Damme voices a character in Kung Fu Panda 2, Berger thinks it would be “awesome” to get Chuck Norris onboard for the third; to have a fight with JCVD, and Steven Seagal.

However, even though Berger and Aibel are amazingly keen to have the online hero that is Chuck Norris join their cast, until Dreamworks commission a third film; which is contingent on the success of Kung Fu Panda 2; and Chuck Norris officially joins the cast, it’s little more than an interesting idea. And as Aibel says, “Kung Fu Panda 3 doesn’t cast Chuck Norris, Chuck Norris casts Kung Fu Panda 3.”
