Cillian Murphy Up for I’m.mortal

Cillian Murphy made his name by playing the lead role in Danny Boyle’s 28 Days Later, before moving onto Hollywood and starring in Cold Mountain, as well as Chris Nolan’s three latest blockbusters; Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Inception; and now, after only recently securing a role in Retreat, the Irish born actor is eyeing up his latest role in I’m.mortal.

Murphy is now in final negotiations to star in the film; which is set in a near future, where the aging gene has been switched off, and as a means of avoiding overpopulation time alive has become a currency, and the way in which people pay for certain luxuries, meaning that rich people can essentially live forever, whilst poorer folk have to scrimp and beg for their lives.

Murphy’s role will be that of an officer from an organization known as the Timekeepers, and will be hot on the trail of a poor man named Will, who suddenly comes into a massive fortune, and then becomes the target of a murder investigation.

Justin Timberlake is also in final negotiations to fulfill the role of Will, and should he close a deal, will be joining Amanda Seyfried (Chloe); who is going to play a young heiress who gets kidnapped by Will after he goes on the run.

So far an official announcement is yet to be made, but all signs look rather promising for the stars joining the Andrew Niccol (Lord of War) written and directed sci-fi drama, that’s due to begin filming at the end of next month (September), and should be released next year.
