Getting back to R-rated action movies (a place where he was always comfortable) Mark Wahlberg (The Fighter) headlines the upcoming film Contraband; a movie in which he plays an ex-smuggler who’s forced back into the life to do one last job after his family’s safety becomes threatened, and one which has just had its first first trailer released online (now available to view below).

Co-starring Kate Beckinsale (Underworld); as Wahlberg’s wife; Giovanni Ribisi (Avatar); as the man forcing him back onto the wrong side of the law; and Ben Foster (The Mechanic); as a member Wahlberg’s smuggling team; Contraband (which has been directed by Baltasar Jormakur, a man who starred in the original Icelandic movie from which this has been remade; Reykjavik-Rotterdam) is due to be released on January 13th in the US, but won’t hit UK cinema screens until March 16th.
