Cowboys & Aliens Full Trailer

While the original teaser trailer was just as well put together, lengthy, and revealing as the majority of newly released theatrical trailers, the Western/sc-fi comic-book adaptation Cowboys & Aliens has just had it’s own theatrical trailer released online (after first making it’s debut on last night’s American Idol).

Starring Daniel Craig (Casino Royale) as an amnesiac cowboy who awakes near a small desert town with no memory of who he is, director John Favreau’s (Iron Man) Cowboys & Aliens tells the tale of not only the amnesiac’s struggle to find out who he is, or the plight of the town ruled over by a ruthless colonel (played by Indiana jones’ Harrison Ford), but an alien invasion that threatens the lives of everyone inhabiting the small western town.

Also starring Olivia Wilde (Tron: Legacy); as a mysterious traveler named Ella (who has had dealings with the aliens before); Sam Rockwell (Moon), Walton Goggins (The Shield), Clancy Brown (Highlander), and Keith Carradine (Deadwood), Cowboys & Aliens is presented as a straight-laced invasion movie, set in the Old West; where aliens begin to attack and abduct people, and the cowboys form an uneasy band to try and fend off the interstellar attack (a task made easier with the use of the strange device Craig’s character finds attached to his arm).

Promising to be a fun genre-mash, and something different to the multitude of remakes, reboots, and superhero movies that are shortly due for release, Cowboys & Aliens is being presented in 2D, and has been filmed on 35mm film (capturing the tone of the classic westerns it emulates), and is due to be released on July 29th in the US, and will make its UK release date on August 19th.
