Creed Trailer

While you may have believed Rocky Balboa was the end of the Rocky saga, you were only half-right, as the franchise will soon be returning with a brand new spin-off, and some new blood, as seen in the first official trailer for Creed (available to view below).

Hoping that injecting some new blood could potentially revitalise the franchise, and pass the torch onto the next generation, Creed will see Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale Station) starring as Adonis Johnson; son of boxer Apollo Creed (Rocky’s one time rival, and former heavyweight champion, turned best friend); and hoping to step into the ring where his father made his name.

Not looking to stand on the shoulders of his father’s success, Adonis turns to Rocky (played by a returning Sylvester Stallone) for a trainer, and both bond on the road to Adonis’ big boxing bout.

Co-starring Anthony Bellew (real-life professional boxer), Tessa Thompson (Dear White People), Graham McTavish (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies), and Phylicia Rashad (The Cosby Show), Creed has been written and directed by Fruitvale Station‘s Ryan Coogler, and is due to be released on November 25th in the US, before making its official UK release date two days later (on November 27th).
