Curse of Chucky Is Real

It wasn’t that long ago that Chucky regular Brad Dourif let slip the fact that he was working on both a planned remake, and a new official sequel, to the Child’s Play franchise which saw him voice the legendary killer-doll Chucky; something which has now been, in part, confirmed, as Universal recently announced plans to develop the Curse of Chucky.

Apparently planning to take Chucky back down a darker path more akin to its origins (rather than following the road taken by the most recent, and fairly mad, sequels), Curse of Chucky will be written by returning scribe Don Mancini (who’s so far written every Chucky movie), and see Chucky causing problems for a dysfunctional family who’ve set aside their differences temporarily to attend a funeral, when filming begins this coming September, ahead of a planned (yes planned) straight-to-DVD release.
