Daredevil Season 2 Ordered By Netflix

While it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone given the hype, the volume of people watching, and the tidal wave of praise which followed the recent debut of the Netflix original series Daredevil, the subscription service have now officially announced Daredevil will be back for a second season.

Little else is known at this point, but you can expect to see Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson all returning for season 2; unlike showrunner Stephen S. DeKnight, who has left the series in the hands of Doug Petrie (who, like DeKnight, has a history of running shows for Avengers’ director Joss Whedon) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy).

While fans may be worried at the departure of DeKnight there’s peace to be found in realising both Petrie and Ramirez served as writers on season one, and DeKnight himself has said: “While previous commitments unfortunately prevent me from continuing on with Daredevil into its second season, I could not be happier that Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez are carrying the torch. They were invaluable collaborators during our first season, and I for one can’t wait to see what they do with the show moving forward.”

No premiere date has been confirmed as yet, though it’s more than likely we will see Daredevil Season 2 air next April; before the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen eventually ports himself over to Marvel/Netflix’s planned Defenders TV show (think the TV Avengers), following debut seasons of A.K.A Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
