Dark Tower images surface at Entertainment Weekly

The team at Entertainment Weekly have certainly been busy of late, they’ve given us the first look at Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur, a new image from Kong: Skull Island, a handful of Wonder Woman stills, and now they’ve given us a selection of official stills from The Dark Tower (available below).

Rather than a straight adaptation of Stephen King’s Dark Tower novels, the film will actually be a sequel of sorts, following Gunslinger Roland Deschain (Idris Elba, Pacific Rim) on a brand new adventure in the fantasy land of Mid-World (and present day New York) as he attempts to protect a young psychic named Jake (Tom Taylor, The Last Kingdom) from the advances of The Man In Black (Matthew McConaughey, Interstellar) who hopes to steal Jake’s powers and use them to destroy reality.

Co-starring Vikings’ Katheryn Winnick, Claudia Kim (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Jackie Earle Haley (currently on the small screen in Preacher), and Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), The Dark Tower has been directed by The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo writer Nikolaj Arcel, and is due to be released on February 17th next year, in both the US and UK.
