David Goyer Sending 100 Bullets to Showtime

Veteran comic-book adapter David Goyer; the man who adapted Blade for the big and small screen, co-wrote Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises, as well as the upcoming Superman reboot (Man of Steel); has recently been confirmed to be adapting another classic comic; DC’s 100 Bullets.

Entering development for a Showtime pilot, Goyer will be adapting the work of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso; who’s award winning crime saga follows a man known as Agent Graves, who travels around with a mysterious case containing a gun and 100 untraceable bullets, which he offers to use in order to provide strangers with retribution for various personal injustices.

The format of the comics offers prefect transferability for a TV series; as they themselves often have an episodic nature (where Graves will meet a stranger and solve their problems before moving on), yet also follow the larger arc of Graves’ group (The Minutemen) and their agenda; but will still have to make it past the pilot season before a full season can be ordered.
