David Slade Linked to Daredevil

As if there aren’t already enough reboots, remakes, re-envisionings, and rehashes, to go along with the multitude of superhero movies that are being released on what seems like a bi-monthly basis, Fox have made the next step in bringing Daredevil back to the big screen, by looking into hiring a new director to helm the project.

Fox’s top choice is Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade, who hasn’t officially accepted an offer to join the Daredevil update, but looks extremely likely to pick up the megaphone for the new movie; which surprisingly appears to be a continuation of the 2003 original (starring The Town’s Ben Affleck), despite having none of the original cast or creative team returning.

As Slade hasn’t officially signed on, and no writer has been attached as yet, there’s obviously no release date set for the Daredevil re/sequel, that will need to replace Ben Affleck as the titular blind superhero Matt Murdoch (there are rumours of Twilight star Robert Pattinson filling the red catsuit, but nothing official), and find some way to replace the key characters and continue the basic plot without any of the old team returning.
