First Image of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman

While an apparently fake banner for the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice movie continues to do the rounds online, Warner Bros. have just released the first image of Jason Momoa as Aquaman, for their upcoming DC superhero ensemble (now available to view below).

Momoa; known for his turns as Conan the Barbarian, Ronan in Stargate Atlantis, and Khal Drogo in Game Of Thrones; will be appearing in the Zack Snyder (Man Of Steel) directed superhero movie which will not only pit Ben Affleck’s Batman against Henry Cavill’s Superman, but feature appearances from Aquaman, Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot, Fast & Furious 6), and Superman villain Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg, Now You See Me).

Co-starring Jeremy Irons (The Borgias), and Man of Steel’s Diane Lane, Amy Adams, and Laurence Fishburne, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be the first step in opening up the Warner/DC slate of comic book movies building to a Justice League film, and a number of solo adventures for the League’s stars.

Aquaman himself, the King of Atlantis (blessed with the ability to speak any language, control marine life, and use both his super strength and telepathic abilities to rule to oceans), will also be getting his own solo outing; following his appearance in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice he’ll form a key part in the Justice League film in 2017, and have his first solo Aquaman movie in 2018.

Yet while 2018 may be a while away, the Aquaman film will still have a lot to live up to; as we all remember the Vincent Chase Aquaman movie topped Spider-Man for the biggest cinematic opening ever made (and if you don’t remember that, you’ve obviously never watched Entourage, and need to catch up before the Entourage film touches down in June).

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be released on March 25th 2016 in both the US and UK.

And as always you can let us know your thoughts on Aquaman’s new look – too Rob Zombie? a great darker/tougher image? Not as cool as Vincent Chase? Love the Trident? or is he missing the comic-book green tights and blonde hair? – in the comments section below.
