Thanks to Amazon Studios, Galaxy Quest, the 1999 cult classic, will be getting a television reboot.

The Dean Parisot-directed film starred Tim Allen (Home Improvement), Sigourney Weaver (Alien) and Alan Rickman (Harry Potter) as actors who appeared on a science-fiction television series. They’re abducted by aliens who are convinced the show is real, and they must play the roles of their characters to help defend the aliens against an evil warlord.

While it’s still unclear whether the original stars will reprise their roles, Parisot, co-writer Robert Gordon and executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are set to return.

There are already plenty of television reboots of films set to premiere. CBS is developing Limitless and Rush Hour for the small screen, and Fox have a Minority Report reboot in the works, which is planned to debut this year.
