Godzilla Gets New Writer

While the upcoming Godzilla movie; which is due to be helmed by Monsters‘ director Gareth Edwards; was originally due to be scripted by Batman Begins‘ David S. Goyer, it appears as though the studio have now gone in a new direction and hired Max Borenstein write the next draft of the Godzilla script.

Borenstein’s CV so far includes work on the planned Jimi Hendrix biopic, and The Seventh Son, but even though he’s now the latest in a list of several writers attached to the upcoming disaster pic, Godzilla is still shrouded in secrecy, and as such there’s no telling exactly what form the eventual film will take, though it’s pretty clear that the originally planned summer 2012 release date is now off the table.
