Hailee Steinfeld Enters Forgotten Territory

Since amazing the world with her breakthrough performance in the Coen brother’s remake of True Grit (which has earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress), Hailee Steinfeld has captured the heart of Paramount Pictures; who are now planning to develop a movie with the specific intention of seeing it become a star vehicle for the young actress.

The film in question will be an adaptation of the upcoming Cat Patrick novel Forgotten; which is due for release this June, and follows a 16-year-old girl who mysteriously has her memory wiped at 4.33am every day, but despite forgetting the past has near perfect recollection of future events, and manages to live a relatively normal life thanks to Memento-like reminder notes, and the aid of a helpful friend.

Taking the lead role, Steinfeld would play the young girl who begins to grow anxious after she meets a young boy (who subsequently vanishes from her visions of the future), in the movie that as yet doesn’t have a release date, or start date; as there’s currently no director attached, no script to speak of, and currently not even a writer on board (meaning the 14-year-old actress will likely be at least the same age as the character she’s set to play, when the film finally rolls around).
