Hans Zimmer will score X-Men: Dark Phoenix

After previously stating Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would be his last foray into the superhero genre, legendary composer Hans Zimmer (fresh from his highly impressive arena tour Hans Zimmer: Live), appears to be heading back to the world of capes-and-cowls in order to score the upcoming X-Men movie, X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Evan Peters (better known to X-Men fans as Quicksilver) broke the news on an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, before instantly admitting he maybe shouldn’t have made the information public just yet.

Directed by X-Men regular executive producer and writer Simon Kinberg, Dark Phoenix will be a new attempt at fixing the highly disappointing X-Men: The Last Stand; where Jean Grey (this time played by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner) and her ever growing, increasingly dark, and infinitely more dangerous, powers form the crux of the story.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix will be released on 2 November in the UK.
