While Hercules may be about to make an imminent cinematic appearance in the guise of Kellan Lutz (for The Legend Of Hercules), he’s also soon to make another cinematic showing later this year; with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stepping into the leading role, and sporting some rather lengthy locks; as seen in the newly released Hercules trailer below, and brand new poster on the right.
In the Brett Ratner (Tower Heist) directed action epic, Dwayne Johnson will star as everyone’s favourite Greek demigod (unless you love Clash of the Titans so much you’re member of the Persus Posse), and find himself not only enduring the legendary twelve labours of Hercules, but begins a life as a successful sellsword, and has to put his strength to the test in order to thelp the King of Thrace and his daughter take down a tyrannical warlord.
Co-starring Ian McShane (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), John Hurt (Alien), Joseph Fiennes (Shakespeare in Love), Rufus Sewell (The Pillars of the Earth), and newcomer Irina Shayk, the modestly titled Hercules is due to be released on July 25th in the US, before making its official UK release date on August 8th.
