How To Train Your Dragon 3 delayed

As DreamWorks Animation has now been acquired by Universal, the effects are beginning to ripple out and alter various movie release calendars; as not only has The Croods 2 been indefinitely cancelled, but How To Train Your Dragon 3 has now been pushed back from a 2018 release date, to March 2019.

Still, while delays inevitably bring disappointment, it will hopefully mean director Dean DeBlois will have every opportunity to ensure How To Train Your Dragon 3; which will find Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) encountering a number of challenges as village chief, a new danger, and his dragon Toothless being drawn from home by the discovery of an untamed mate; lives up to the high standard of both the first and second films.

At least we hope it’ll mean that, given 2019 will be a full five years since 2014’s release of How To Train Your Dragon 2.
