While it was reported back in June that House star Hugh Laurie had entered talks to star as the villain in the upcoming Robocop remake, it appears as though talks have finally fallen through, and that Laurie will not be appearing as the film’s corporate villain.
So the hunt is still on for a new bad guy to star in the movie which is being headlined by Joel Kinnaman (Safe House), will co-star Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises), Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers), and Abbie Cornish (Limitless), and is due to be directed by Elite Squad’s Jose Padhila, ahead of its August 2013 release date.
