I Am Number Four: Trailer

Based on the book by James Frey, the upcoming movie I Am Number four focusses on the adventures of one particular alien refugee; who’s trying to survive in the small town of Paradise, Ohio, whilst disguising himself as a regular high-school kid, and avoiding the evil aliens that are hunting him; and has recently had it’s official trailer released online (which can be seen below).

Played by Alex Pettyfer (Beastly), the titular number four; who goes by the cleverly original pseudonym John Smith; is one of nine alien teenagers who were forced to abandon their home planet of Lorien (a different one to the forestry realm seen in Lord of the Rings), when it was attacked and destroyed by an evil alien race known as the Mogadorians; who are now intent on finding the young refugees, and wiping them out.

Four’s adventure involves him struggling to deal with his first true Earth love; when he falls for a local Ohio girl called Sarah (who’s being played by Burlesque’s Dianna Agron); and having to fight for not only his life, and the lives of his friends, but the safety of the entire planet, when the Mogadorians kill the first three of his kind, and come after him.

Justified’s Timothy Olyphant will be appearing as Henri; the mentor and eternal protector of number four; who will be defending his charge from the evil aliens commanded by Robin Hood’s Kevin Durand, when D.J. Caruso’s (Disturbia) film gains its theatrical release on February 18th.
