Idris Elba Returns For Thor 2

Idris Elba’s a man very much in demand at the moment; he’ll soon be seen in Ridley Scott’s sci-fi/horror Prometheus, he’s scheduled to play Nelson Mandella in Long Walk to Freedom, and and will also be seen in Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim; but he’s recently confirmed that he’ll soon be returning to the Marvel universe, and once again playing Heimdall in Thor 2.

Recently speaking to Collider, Elba said “I’m going to do Thor after I play Mandela”, and also said he’d “like to get to know him [Heimdall] a bit more” when filming starts in London, this coming August (ahead of a November 13th 2013 release date – which is fully expected to become a summer-date before release), but reminded us that as far as the script goes, even he “hasn’t read it yet.”
