Inbetweeners Movie Starts Shooting

After winning two BAFTA awards, Best Sit-com at the British Comedy Awards, a Rose d’Or, and stacks of others, The Inbetweeners show no sign of slowing down; as they’ve just completed a road-trip across Britain (traveling to some of the most amusingly named places across the country, for Comic Relief), and are about to start shooting their first feature film.

Plot-wise there’s little that’s been leaked, other than the fact the movie sees the still average, slightly pathetic, group of sixth-form boys going on a lads holiday to Malia; a holiday that will of course include everything that typifies a lads holiday (down to the booze, birds, and sunburn), and all of the elements we’ve come to expect from the series itself (new words for sex, crazy stories, and disgusting yet hilarious physical comedy).

All of the series main stars will be returning; including Simon Bird (as the pretentious, formerly private-schooled, Will), Joe Thomas (as the angry, lovesick, Simon), James Buckley (as compulsive liar Jay), and Blake Harrison (as dopey Neil); and joined by some other series regulars; such as Emily Head (as Carli; the girl of Simon’s dreams), Belinda Stewart-Wilson (as the Will’s mum; officially one of the sexiest mums on TV), and Greg Davies (as the always hilarious, and often intimidating, teacher Mr Gilbert).

Whilst a couple of short scenes have already been filmed, principal photography begins tomorrow (February 6th) and will last for six weeks; seeing the guys film both in the U.K. (beginning in London), and Spain; before the movie gets its official, theatrical, release on August the 19th in the U.K. (as of yet there’s no scheduled U.S. release date).
