Courtesy of the yearly Super Bowl TV spot bonanza, we now have a new look at the upcoming Independence Day: Resurgence below.
Once more coming from director Roland Emmerich, Resurgence takes place 20 years after the attempted alien invasion witnessed in Independence Day, and sees not only the return of the aliens, but a technologically advanced Earth who’re hoping to be at least partially ready for the second wave.
Still, obviously the aliens come big, and our combined use of recovered alien technologies might not be enough to defend against a truly unprecedented attack. Cue Jeff Goldblum stepping back in to save the day, the reappearance of the wartime president (Bill Pullman), and a number of new faces (including Maika Monroe and Liam Hemsworth) which hope to quell the latest attack.
Independence Day: Resurgence will be released on June 24th, in both the US and UK.
