Coming from writer/director Nancy Meyers (The Holiday), The Intern stars Robert De Niro (Heat) as a retiree stepping back into the workplace after a chronic case of retiree’s boredom; and you can now get a glimpse of how he gets on courtesy of The Intern official trailer below.
Starring as widower Ben Westlake, De Niro finds himself as a 70-year-old intern working for an online fashion firm run by high-flier Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway, The Dark Knight Rises); who saw her company rise from nothing to employing over 200 people in less than two years.
While it sounds, and looks, like a fairly paint-by-numbers good-natured drama there’s undeniable heart evident within the trailer, and as The Intern not only stars De Niro and Hathaway but Rene Russo (Thor: The Dark World), Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect), and Anders Holm (Bad Neighbours) it could be well work a look when it’s released on September 25th in the US, before it makes its official UK release date on October 2nd.
