Jai Courtney Joining The Suicide Squad?

Jai CourtneyWith an ever increasing number of people rumoured to be joining the upcoming big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Suicide Squad, we now have a new name linked to the movie’ Divergent and A Good Day To Die Hard star Jai Courtney.

Soon to be seen in the upcoming Terminator film, Terminator: Genisys, Courtney is reportedly circling the coveted role of Deadshot (one of Batman’s main villains, sometimes seen as a recurring character in Arrow; played by Michael Rowe); an amazingly proficient assassin who’s claims he never misses his target, and forms a central member of the Suicide Squad.

For those who don’t know, the Suicide Squad is similar to an Avengers-style crossover where the heroes are actually a group of super-villains; forced into undertaking a deadly mission by the government, with the hope of redemption in the unlikely event of their success; with Harley Quinn, The Joker, and Lex Luthor all currently rumoured to be joining the group.

Should Lex Luthor appear there’s every possibility (and unconfirmed statements suggesting) Jesse Eisenberg will return to play the role following his upcoming appearance as Lex in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, alongside Margot Robbie; The Wolf of Wall Street star who’s apparently very close to signing on as Harley Quinn); and possibly Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises’ star who’s being sought for the part of Suicide Squad founder Rick Flagg), Jared Leto (the Dallas Buyers Club star who Warner would like to see play The Joker), and even Bad Boys’ Will Smith (who could take on the role of Captain Boomerang).

Scripted by Justin Marks, and due to be directed by David Ayer (Fury), Suicide Squad is due to be released on August 5th 2016 in both the US and UK.
