Jennifer Lawrence Directing Project Delirium

Jennifer Lawrence 2015

The Hunger Games are over, Joy‘s in post-production, and many people have been asking what’s next for the increasingly busy Jennifer Lawrence. Well, she’s not only filming Passengers (with Chris Pratt) and completed work on X-Men: Apocalypse, but has two other starring projects lined up (including an untitled Darren Aronofsky film), is writing a movie with Amy Schumer, and has just lined up her first ever directing gig.

Lawrence will make the jump to directing with a thriller titled Project Delirium, which she says is “based on this article, Operation Delirium about mental warfare in the ’60s, like an acid experiment gone terribly wrong.” The article referred to being one published in The New Yorker in 2012,  chronicling the research into psychochemicals that temporarily incapacitate the mind as a way to take out enemy soldiers.

As of yet there’s no stars, release date, or even start date for the project, and it’s likely to be some ways off as Jen not only has a number of other confirmed projects, but will also be embarking on publicity tours for the films she’s already completed.

UK readers can next see her in Joy on January 1st, before X-Men: Apocalypse is released on May 19th.

Or alternatively catch The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, which is in cinemas now. – Read our review here.
