Jessica Chastain Joins Untitled Tom Cruise Movie

After gaining a wealth of praise for her performance in The Help, Jessica Chastain has just signed on to appear in the as yet untitled apocalyptic sci-fi/action movie that’s being helmed by Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, and is due to star Hollywood’s leading man; Tom Cruise.

Cruise will lead the cast of the film, formerly known as both Oblivion and Horizions, as the last man on Earth (as the planet has become uninhabitable); who’s tasked with repairing a number of drones which are used to fend off the attacks of predatory aliens, and does so until the day he meets a beautiful intruder who makes him question his entire world view.

Chastain will not be playing the beautiful intruder, but Cruise’s lover; who becomes just a little bit miffed, when she finds out that he’s fallen for another woman; in the film which is due to be released on July 19th 2013 in the US, and will presumably receive a similar release date in the UK (provided a title can be decided upon by then).
