While she had been lined up to take on the role of a brilliant and beautiful scientist, working on the development of new nanobots that could take Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit to the next level in the upcoming third Iron Man movie, but Jessica Chastain has recently announced that she’s just too busy to appear in the superhero theequel.

“The Press announced my possible involvement far too soon.” Chastain recently wrote on her Facebook page, explaining that “Iron Man 3 isn’t going to work out” because her “schedule is jammed packed” and she “can’t fit anything else in.” Before also adding that “Shane Black and everyone on the IM3 team are really wonderful”, that she’s “very excited to see the film when it comes out”, and stating “hopefully there’ll be another Marvel film in my future.”

Robert Downey Jr. will once again be returning as Tony Stark/Iron Man for Iron Man 3 (having just come off a somewhat successful run as the genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist in The Avengers), and joined by returning co-stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Don Cheadle, as well as newcomers Ben Kingsley (Shutter Island) and Guy Pearce (Memento), when Iron Man 3 is released on May 3rd 2013 in both the US and UK.
