John Travolta and Uma Thurman Are Savages

Following a pot-dealing former Navy SEAL and his friend, who have their girlfriend (yes they share the same woman) kidnapped by a Mexican Cartel boss (after refusing to work for her), before the plan to rob the Cartel’s own shipments in order to pay the ransom, Oliver Stone’s (Platoon) latest movie; Savages; has just gained two new cast members; John Travolta, and Uma Thurman.

Travolta and Thurman (who famously worked together, and busted some killer moves, in Pulp Fiction) join an already strong cast; which includes The Bang Bang Club’s Taylor Kitsch (as the SEAL), Nowhere Boy’s Aaron Johnson (as his stoner friend), The Town’s Blake Lively (as their shared girlfriend O), Desperado’s Salma Hayek (as the Cartel boss), and Che’s Benicio Del Toro (as her enforcer Lado); and will be starring as a burnt out Drug Enforcement Agency operative, and O’s mother respectively.

Based on Don Winslow’s best-selling novel of the same name, Savages has been written by Don Winslow and Shane Salerno (Shaft), is due to begin shooting in June (likely after a few more casting announcements have been made), and is scheduled for release sometime next year.
