Joseph Gordon-Levitt Joining Django Unchained?

Django Unchained; the upcoming western from Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino; already has a cast-list packed full of true acting talent, but may soon be expanding its ranks by one, as the ever busy and well renowned Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has reportedly been offered a role in the movie.

While it’s being reported that Gordon-Levitt has has a sit-down dinner with the director, and been offered an unspecified part in the film, he’ll have to work out a few scheduling conflicts if he is to eventually appear (the reason Kevin Costner had to recently back out of his role), but would likely prove a welcome addition to the already talent-loaded cast.

Jamie Foxx (Ray) will be heading the cast as the freed slave Django; who’s joined in his quest to save his wife from the clutches of a ruthless ranch owner (portrayed by Inception‘s Leonardo DiCaprio) by a German bounty hunter (Christophe Waltz, Inglorious Basterds), and butts heads with Samuel L. Jackson (Pulp Fiction), Kurt Russell (Death Proof), and Don Johnson (Machete).

Django Unchained (which has been touted as Tarantino’s Spaghetti Western) is scheduled to begin shooting in New Orleans this January, ahead of a release either late next year or in early 2013 (which is more likely) , or possibly on December 25th (Christmas Day) 2012 in the US if rumours are to be believed.
