With Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart set to take on the leading roles in the upcoming Jumanji remake (following their press tour for the upcoming comedy Central Intelligence), the cast has just started expanding; as Goosebumps‘ Jack Black has just entered talks to star.

Apparently in development since 2012, this new adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 adventure novel will bring a new version of the enchanted board game story to the big screen, while still honouring the Robin Williams film loved by so many, and the memory of Williams himself (according to a recent Instagram post by The Rock – quickly becoming the hottest place for news on his movie projects).

Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) is set to direct the film which will undoubtedly feature some hefty changes from Jumanji‘s last filmic outing, is scheduled to start filming in Hawaii this August, and is due to be released in July 2017.
