Jurassic Park Blu-ray Details and Trailer

Easily one of the most hotly anticipated Blu-ray releases of all time; Jurassic Park; finally had its official release date confirmed earlier this week, and will be coming to Blu-ray and DVD in a range of different collector’s sets which include all three movies, digital copies of the films, and a host of special features.

Sporting a digitally remastered 1080p transfer, a newly mastered 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track for “perfect audio”, and some entirely new bonus content; including a new 6-part documentary on the making of the films (with newly recorded retrospective interviews with the majority of the cast and crew); as well as the classic content we all know and love from previous releases (such as interviews, making ofs, effects featurettes, commentaries, and more).

Known for being a true pioneer in filmmaking, Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park broke the mould, and forever changed the way in which films are made (largely thanks to its truly groundbreaking visual effects; which were crafted in part by Stan Winston, and not only brought the dinosaurs to life, but turned the hulking T-Rex, and lightning-quick Velociraptors, into some of the most memorable film characters from the past 50 years), and as the trilogy (which consists of not only the original classic Jurassic Park, but The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and Jurassic Park III) earned nearly $2 billion at the worldwide Box Office it’d be no stretch to call this one of the best loved trilogies in cinema, and a true fan favourite.

Spielberg is also known for releasing extremely high-quality, fan-pleasing, Blu-ray sets of his films (as evident by the immaculate Close Encounters of the Third Kind release; which sported a brilliant transfer, superb sound, excellent special features, a collector’s booklet, and 3 versions of the film); aiming to reward his fans rather than simply churn out new edition after new edition in order to generate a few more pennies; meaning the Jurassic Park blu-ray released should be one worth adding to any collection.

The Jurassic Park trilogy comes to Blu-ray in a trio of different editions; including the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy (consisting of the three films, and their digital counterparts), the Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy Limited Collector’s Edition (newly packaged release with all three films, and their digital counterparts), and the Jurassic Park Trilogy Ultimate Collector’s Edition (consisting of the three films; in Ultimate Trilogy packaging; their digital counterparts, a certificate of authenticity, and a deluxe T-Rex model); all of which are now available for pre-order (by clicking their respective titles above, or the product links below the trailer), and will make their Blu-ray debut when they are released on October 24th (UK) and 25th (US).
