Kate BeckinsaleDue to be directed by Monty Python‘s Terry Jones, the upcoming comedy Absolutely Anything has just added a host of names to its ever growing cast-list; including the latest addition, Total Recall reboot star, Kate Beckinsale.

Starring Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead) as a disillusioned teacher who suddenly develops special abilities, and discovers these abilities have been gifted to him by a race of aliens who simply enjoy messing about with lesser evolved species, Absolutely Anything has been scripted by Jones and Gavin Scott (Small Soldiers), and will see Jones’ Python partners John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and Michael Palin providing voices for the film’s aliens (along with one voiced by Jones himself).

Robin Williams (Mrs Doubtfire) will also be adding voice talent (as Pegg’s dog), with the recently cast Beckinsale picking up the part of the woman in Pegg’s life, and starting alongside Eddie Izzard (Valkyrie), Sanjeev Bhaskar (Mumbai Calling), and Joanna Lumley (the Absolutely Fabulous star who was more recently seen in The Wolf Of Wall Street), when filming begins next month, and continues through April, ahead of an as yet unannounced release date, predicted late this year.
