Kurt Russell is a man that’s managed to Escape From New York, got into Big Trouble in Little China, witnessed his friends get butchered by The Thing, and traveled to another world through a Stargate, and while his latest challenge shouldn’t use up quite as many bullets as he’s used to, it may prove just as hard; as he’ll soon be stepping onto an onscreen football field, as the new coach of a high-school football team in Freedom Films’ Touchback.

Brian Presley (Home of the Brave) is the film’s lead, and will be playing a down-on-his-luck farmer-come-firefighter named, who once had the promise of a decent football career until an unfortunate injury during a playoff game put an end to that dream; a dream that he will he decide if he wants to chase once again, as he gets unexpectedly thrust back to the game that changed his life forever.

Renowned football coordinator Mark Ellis has also joined Touchback, to oversee the fateful game, which is being directed by its writer; Don Handfield (My Name Is…); and is due to begin filming this week in Grand Rapids, Michigan, ahead of a release that’s currently scheduled for next year.
