Latest Dredd Poster

With its release date drawing ever closer, a full trailer now not only online but also accompanying the theatrical release of The Dark Knight Rises, and an apparently action-packed plot similar to that of The Raid, Dredd is soon to make an impact on many a movie-goer’s life, and has just had its latest poster released online (now available to view below).

Starring Karl Urban (Star Trek) as the titular futuristic Judge (a peacekeeping officer who, along with his colleagues, has the authority to act as Judge, Jury, and Executioner, in order to speed up the legal process, and keep the mean streets of Mega City One as clean as possible), Dredd will find the star of the 2000AD comics heading into a tower block run by drug baron Ma-Ma (Lena Headey, Game of Thrones), and along with his rookie partner Anderson (Olivia Thirlby, No Strings Attached), traversing the 200 floor building in order to stop Ma-Ma and her army of thugs from flooding the city with the new designer drug Slo-Mo.

Directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point), and written by Alex Garland (28 Days Later), Dredd also co-star Domhnall Gleeson (True Grit), looks to be a fair shade grittier than Stallone’s Judge Dredd, and can be seen in 3D when it makes its official UK release date on September 7th, before making its way over to the US on September 21st.

You can watch the official Dredd trailer here, or catch a clip of the movie here.
