Leatherface 3D Finds a Director

Widely regarded as one of the greatest horror pictures ever made, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a movie that keeps on getting revisited, with sequels, prequels, reboots, and remakes cropping up every few years, and now; 18 months after Twisted Pictures acquired the rights to the franchise; Leatherface 3D finally has a director.

Takers director John Lussenhop is currently in talks to direct the movie that will not continue the franchise; which began with Marcus Nispel’s 2003 Massacre remake, and continued with Jonathan Liebesman’s 2006 The Beginning prequel; but will pick up right where Tobe hoopers original movie finished, and then flash forward 35 years.

Stephen Susco (The Grudge) is reported to have turned in a recent draft of the movie that as yet has no cast members confirmed, no official start date, and no official release date, although it’s quite possible we could see Leatherface 3D sawing its way onto cinema screens sometime next year.
