Lincoln Trailer

While the last movie to feature Abraham Lincoln may not have been entirely accurate (we’re fairly, sure Linc spent more time running the United States than fighting vampires; ala Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter), the next is much more of a prestigious, straight-up, biography, and now you can see the full trailer for Lincoln below.

Directed by Steven Spielberg (Jaws), Lincoln won’t be providing a broad overview of the 16th President’s life, but rather focussing on his struggles towards the close of the American Civil War, his determination to fully abolish the slave trade (and the strong opposition he faced in doing so), and his untimely death.

John Williams has provided another impressive sounding score (as he does with many a Spielberg movie) for the film which sees Daniel Day Lewis (The Last Of The Mohicans) don the classic beard and top hat to become Honest Abe, Sally Field (Mrs. Doubtfire) as his wife Mary Todd Lincoln, and a host of other well known names; including Tommy Lee Jones (Men In Black), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises), Jared Harris (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), and James Spader (Stargate); which will appear on screen together when Lincoln is released on November 16th in the US, and makes its official UK release date on January 25th next year.
