Machine Gun Preacher Trailer

Directed by Quantum of Solace’s Marc Forster, Machine Gun Preacher tells the true story of Sam Childers; a former drug-dealer who miraculously turned his life around, and became the savior of hundreds of kidnapped and orphaned children in the Sudan; and has just had it first poster (available to view on the right) and trailer (now available to view below) released online.

Gerard Butler (300) stars as Childers; finding religion after committing countless criminal acts, changing his life, and going out to Africa in order to help the plighted children; and is joined by Michelle Monaghan (Source Code) in the film that sees the formerly violent man turn into an orphanage building do-gooder, before the rebels place a bounty on his head, burn down his orphanage, and force him to pick up a machine gun, and once again go on the offensive.

Machine Gun Preacher also stars Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire), was picked for the official selection at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, and looks as if it’ll be a powerful movie with a real message, that also packs a punch, and a good dose of action, when it’s released on September 23rd in the US, and makes its way onto UK screen on November 18th.
