Coming from director Antoine Fuqua; the man behind Training Day and The Equalizer; you can now see the first official trailer for The Magnificent Seven remake below (following a selection of images from the film).

Starring Fuqua’s regular cohort Denzel Washington, alongside Chris Pratt (Jurassic World), Ethan Hawke (Training Day), Vincent D’Onofrio (Jurassic World), Byung-hun Lee (Terminator: Genisys), Martin Sensmeier (Lilin’s Brood), and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Cake), as the titular Seven, the film will see a young widow (played by The Equalizer‘s Haley Bennett) asking a bounty hunter (Denzel) for help in saving/avenging her small town (and its gold mine) from the guns of a band of ruthless money-hungry thugs.

Nic Pizzolatto (True Detective) is among a number of names who’ve taken a pass at the script; updating it from the classic 1960 western starring Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen (itself adapted from the classic Seven Samurai); and the cast will also include the likes of Peter Sarsgaard (Jarhead), Vinnie Jones (Snatch), and Luke Grimes (American Sniper) when it’s released on September 23rd.
